Chris Saldivar
Hello, my name is Chris, and I am dedicated to serving individuals impacted by trauma. After serving in the military for eight years, where I gained a deep understanding of human behavior, relationship-building, and the importance of resilience through life’s challenges, I pursued a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Brandman University in 2012. My journey into social work began at the Wounded Warrior Battalion Call Center at Camp Pendleton, supporting wounded and injured Marines. This experience ignited my passion for helping others on their mental health journeys, leading me to earn a Master of Social Work (MSW) from the University of Southern California in 2015.
During my studies from 2013 to 2015, I gained invaluable experience as a counselor at two local agencies, working with individuals grappling with trauma. My nearly decade-long career includes providing individual, couples, and group counseling, specializing in Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, family and marital issues, bereavement, anxiety, depression, chronic pain, and other psychological challenges. My therapeutic approach is client-centered, emphasizing strength-based and solutions-focused strategies to empower my clients. I am highly experienced in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Gottman Method Couples Therapy, mindfulness techniques, and EMDR, in which I hold EMDRIA certification.
I’ve had the opportunity to work with a diverse range of clients—including individuals from different ethnic backgrounds, trauma survivors, first responders, healthcare workers, caregivers, and seniors. This experience has helped me develop a culturally sensitive, adaptable approach tailored to each person’s unique needs, fostering a safe and trusting environment where healing and growth are possible.
I am committed to developing comprehensive treatment plans, guided by a deep understanding of the complexities of trauma and the resilience of the human spirit. I believe in walking alongside my clients as they navigate their paths to recovery and healing.
