Emily Mayot, LCSW
Hello, my name is Emily Mayot, founder of Orange County Therapy. I am a registered licensed clinical social worker specializing in anxiety, depression, transitions, trauma, grief/loss and substance abuse. My passion has been growing since my first years in college for the helping profession. I have always been fascinated by the mind and body connection. After earning my bachelor in psychology from Cal State University Fullerton, I quickly started my master in social work at University of Southern California (USC). I have been trained in CBT, CPT, Motivational Interviewing. I am certified in EMDR and received a certification in psychoanalysis for adults. I am now a psychoanalyst-in-training through Newport Psychoanalytic Institute. I crave continued learning and education to better understand my clients, myself and our world. My work and training history includes but not limited to Child Abuse Prevention Center, Melinda Hoag Center for Healthy Living, College Hospital, Psychiatric Institute of Washington, and Laguna Treatment Hospital. Since I first started in this career, I've grown profoundly and cherish every interaction with my patients. Their stories and resilience inspire me. I take pride in walking along side them on their therapeutic journey.
My style is compassionate, non-judgmental, down-to-earth, flexible and organized. My approach is to meet you where you are at in the present moment and time. This approach helps me understand where you want to start and constructing goals in therapy.
I am currently licensed in three states and license numbers listed below. I am not accepting insurance at this time.
